Location & Local Activities

Our beach town home is located in the beautiful town of Chatham, Massachusetts – the jewel of Cape Cod. It is located at the very tip of the “elbow” of Cape Cod. We like to think that we are the first place that the East wind kisses the Cape, and it is truly a magical location. Chatham has a long and interesting history. It is over 300 years old, and its natural beauty and architecture matches any of the finest found on Nantucket or Martha’s Vineyard, and its property tax rates are among the lowest in Massachusetts.

Chatham, and particularly our location, is the place for anyone who loves water activities, the arts, nature, history, and unique environments. The waters around us teem with fish, animal, and bird life. From June through October, Chatham’s waters are alive with Striped Bass, Bluefish, Flounder, Fluke, Black Bass, False Albacore, and Bluefin Tuna.

In front of us, at low tide, are some of the best clam flats in Massachusetts for soft and hard shelled clams, mussels, and oysters. On the east side of South Beach, even Minke and Humpbacked Whales come into sight of shore on occasion.

The Atlantic, on south Beach has the largest concentration of Grey and Monk seals on the east coast, numbering in the thousands. Chatham’s bird life, of all sorts, attracts naturalists from all over the world. The complexity of our coastline and estuaries make these waters fascinating for boaters. If you are a boater one of the finest marinas on Cape Cod, Outermost Harbor Marine, is a two minute walk next door.
